The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer P.Shroff,  SET ABLAZE was examined at  0840 hours on 29/09/2012 . The filly was tied up severely after morning work. As such, SET ABLAZE was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer has to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race. 

WIND OF THE HILLS (Amyn Merchant) played up in the stall. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and was found to have suffered a gum injury and was sore from the right hind leg. As such, WIND OF THE HILLS was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. In view of the above and the filly’s behavior in her last outing where she was reluctant to be stalled, Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to give the filly more practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Also, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, MATRIOSHKA (A.Ashhad Asbar) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to STAR GAZING (J.Chinoy).

ROCKING (Dashrath Singh) lugged out during the race and while straightening for home, carried MATRIOSHKA (A.Ashhad Asbar) outwards. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

IL MORAN (D.K.Ashish) lugged out during the race. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (MATRIOSHKA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Also,  the Jockey has been fined a further sum of Rs.2000/- for using his whip in an improper manner, wherein he has used the whip with excessive frequency.  

After the race, SAMI was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind coronet and pastern. MATRIOSHKA and ROCKING (examined on 01/10/2012) were found to be sound.
