Racing Incidents

REMEMBER ME (J. Chinoy) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in two Mock Races, before next accepting with him to race.
 
An objection was lodged by Jockey P. S. Chouhan, rider of PERSIAN PRINCE (Placed Second) against HOLY SMOKE (Suraj Narredu, Placed First). The reason being, after the final turn, HOLY SMOKE shifted in and bumped his mount due to which the gelding lost its rhythm. Thereafter, again in the last 100 metres, HOLY SMOKE shifted in and took his ground whereby he lost a certain race.
 
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.
 
Turning for home, HOLY SMOKE (Suraj Narredu) shifted in and made contact with PERSIAN PRINCE (P. S. Chouhan).
 
After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (HOLY SMOKE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Tr. Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
 
The Sr. V.O. reported that AGELESS was examined in trot at the stables in the morning on 29/07/2016 and found to be sound.
