Racing Incidents

Explanation of Jockey Akshay Kumar (REUNION) in the presence of Trainer R H Sequeira that his instructions were to sit close 3rd/4th and do his best in the straight which he tried to follow until entering the straight and thereafter when asked for an effort, the gelding did not show any turn of foot in the straight inspite of his best efforts. The Trainer while confirming the above added that his charge ran in a similar way in his previous run in Bangalore St. Ledger and did not show any improvement after that race. Subsequent Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding has sharp molars on both sides. The Trainer was however, informed that an enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of his charge.
