Explanation of Jockey P. Trevor (RAPID FIRE) that his instructions were to sit close with front runners and do his best in the straight which he tried to follow until entering the straight and thereafter when asked for an effort, the gelding did not raise a winning gallop inspite of his best efforts was confirmed by Trainer R.H. Sequeira. The Trainer further added that his charge is running after setback, as such the poor performance was noted for future reference. Subsequent Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding sustained cut injury over right hind. However, the gelding was trotting sound after the race.

On a report from the Clerk of the Scales that due to heavy rain during the running of this race, all the Jockeys had weighed in 1 to 1 1/2 kgs excess over the weight at which they weighed out, the Board of Stewards after noting the above, ordered the Clerk of the Scales to give All Clear.
