Racing Incidents

Soon after the start, PAPAKURA (T.S.Jodha, dr.4) shifted in as the gelding was being settled and made contact with MOON SHADOW (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.3) who was steadied and lost ground. Jockey T.S.Jodha was asked to be more careful in the future.

An objection was lodged by Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar, rider of MOON SHADOW (Placed Second) against MAXIMUS (App.Santosh G. Placed First). The reason being, near 400 metres, when he made his move in the gap in front of him, MAXIMUS came out in front of him causing him to ease and check his mount for a few strides, which cost him a certain race.

After considering the submissions made by Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar and App.Santosh G. who was accompanied by Trainer M.Narredu, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

In the above connection, App.Santosh G. has been suspended from riding in races for 23rd July, 2015 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, MAXIMUS was found to be sound.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of MOON SHADOW and a report will be submitted later.
