ockey S. Shiva Kumar, the rider of SERIOUS WARRIOR, was repri- manded for pulling up his mount immediately past the post there- by inconveniencing the runners finishing on behind. The Stipendiary Stewards reported Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Jockey S. Selvaraj to the Stewards for running and riding of BEE FOR YOU in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry and interviewed trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Jockey S. Selvaraj After deliberations, they decided to (a) fine trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala a sum of Rs.20,000/- for the unsatisfactory explanation tendered during the enquiry and for the negligence of his duty pertaining to imparting specific riding instructions to his rider; and (b) suspend the Jockey`s licence of S. Selvaraj from 23-1-2008 to 23-2-2008 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (Rule No.161(ii) on his mount BEE FOR YOU in the above race (permitted to ride work). Surprise
