Racing Incidents
BLINK (S.A. DeSousa) was slowly away and lost about 2 lengths. Thereafter it was lethargic and slow into stride thereby losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Mr.M.Eshwer was questioned regarding (a) his riding instructions; and (b) the be- haviour of the horse at the start. He stated that (a) he had instructed the rider to maintain a forward position and ride out in the straight; (b) the horse was slowly away for the first time in its career and it could be probably due to the sheep skin cheek piece which was used for the first time on his charge. His explanations were noted for future reference.
