Racing Incidents
As Jockey C. Alford could not arrive to fulfill his riding engagement for reason beyond his control, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar to substitute Jockey Ladjadj Stephan to ride FREE LAW in place of the declared rider.
FREE LAW (Ladjadj Stephan) reared up awkwardly in the starting gates dislodging its rider and the rider was certified medically unfit to ride. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's orders.
Jockey M. Noornabi, the rider of ENDURING SPEED, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to CURRENT RAY (N.T. Callow) on his inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
TRUE IMPRESSION (A.R. Pradeep) was slowly away and lost a few lengths at the start. In view of its behaivour trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day.
Jockey S. John, the rider of RIVER SIDE, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 150 Metres.
FOREST REGENT (M.A. Gallagher) sustained gum injury.
