Racing Incidents
Permission was granted to trainer Mr.B.Puttanna to deputise on behalf of trainer Mr.M.P.Mahesh for the above race. GOOD GIFT (Rajesh .N) jumped awkwardly inwards and inconvenienced NEEL GAGAN (Md.Akbar), which in turn passed it on to HARINI (V.R.Jagadeesh) soon after jumping out of the starting gates. Jockey Amyn Merchant, the rider of ABSENCE was fined Rs.2000/- for forcing a passage where there was insufficient room, thereby causing interference to GOOD GIFT (Rajesh .N) on his outside rounding the final bend. Trainer Mr.S.Britto was questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge, ABSENCE (Amyn Merchant), the winner of this race, as compared to its previous run in Race No.9 of the Bangalore Summer Races 2011, i.e., The Malenahalli Plate (About) 1400 Metres, for horses rated 00 to 25, run on Sunday, 15th May, 2011 when ridden by the same rider it ran unplaced. The Trainer stated that (a) The last run of the horse was its first run after the gap of over two months; (b) The horse probably had performed better in this race with a run benefit; (c) In its last run, over 1400 Metres it was in the front bunch till about the last 150 Metres; (d) Even then, between his two charges viz. GOOD GIFT and ABSENCE, he fancied the former especially in view of its good performance in its last run in race No.17 of the BSM 2011; (e) He declared good riders on both his charges and had instructed the riders to do their best; and (f) He was himself surprised at the win of his charge ABSENCE in the above race. While noting his explanations he was cautioned to maintain consistency in the performance of his charges in future. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b.g. ABSENCE.
