Racing Incidents
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Amit Caddy to withdraw ROYAL PLAYER (R. Bharath) on veterinary grounds as it was suffering from fever. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
ILLUSTRIOUS (A. Sandesh) took a fly jump.
Jockey Ladjadj Stephan, the rider of AZTEC GOLD, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to CITRALI (A.R. Pradeep) on his inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey S. John, the rider of FLORIDA to the Stewards for dangerous riding (Rule No.161(ii)) of the BTC Rules of Racing in that within 50 Metres of the start he came in and caused interference to AZTEC GOLD (Ladjadj Stephen) on his inside and again within 100 Metres of the start he came in very sharply causing very severe interference to AMIABLE LADY (D.K. Ashish) on his inside. A chain reaction followed in that the horses on the inside of AMIABLE LADY viz. CORLEONE (N.T. Callow), GOLDEN QUEST (M.A. Gallagher) and FORTUNE QUEEN (Mohammed Shoaib) suffered severe interference. The Stewards held an enquiry and examined the Jockeys concerned viz. S. John, Ladjadj Stephen, D.K. Ashish, N.T. Callow, M.A. Gallagher and Mohammed Shoaib. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to suspend the Jockey's licence granted to Jockey S. John from 14-6-2011 to 29-6-2011 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding (Rule No.161(ii)) of the BTC Rules of Racing on his mount FLORIDA in the above race (permitted to ride work).
ILLUSTRIOUS (A. Sandesh) sustained bleeding cut injury on both hind fetlock.
FLORIDA (S. John) sustained a cut injury on right hind fetlock.
Surprise sample was taken for analysis from ch f FLORIDA.
