Permission was granted to trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj to withdraw SIRONO on veterinary grounds as it was found to be lame on right fore due to sprained shoulder. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. G. Nityanand to withdraw DANCE N CELEBRATE on veterinary grounds as it was found to be lame on right fore due to inflamed tendon. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was questioned regarding the running of his charge SHOW TIME in the above race as also the reason for declaring a Jockey who could not make the allotted weight especially when it was running in the higher class. The Trainer stated that (a) his charge won well over a 1200 Metres in Race No.18 on 12th November 2011; (b) Subsequently based on the performance and in deference to the wishes of the owners he ran it in the 1000 Guineas after preparing the horse to perform well over a distance of 1600 Metres; (c) Again the training pattern was changed to run it in the above race but probably his charge had not adapted well within a short time; (d) he intends to train his charge to perform over a shorter distance especially with the Sprinters Trials Stakes race in view. As regards declaring Jockey Suraj Narredu who could not ride at the allotted weight he stated that the Jockey had been associated with the horse in its three previous wins and since it was allotted 50 Kgs in the above race he chose to declare him despite the over weight to be carried by the rider. While noting his explanations he was informed to be more prudent as to the selection of riders for his charges in relation to the weight to be carried by them in races in future.
