Racing Incidents
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. V. Lokanath to withdraw BROWNIE (S. John) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be lame on right fore due to sprained shoulder. Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey Anthony Crastus, the rider of CASTRO, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement). Jockey S. Selvaraj, the rider of HILLARIOUS, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the improper use of the whip whereby he allowed his mount to drift out in the final 150 Metres of the race. He was further cautioned in the presence of Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala that in view of the fact that he had won the race, no further action was taken but for which he would have been reported to the Stewards for severe disciplinary action. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c HILLARIOUS.
