Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. V Narayana Gowda to withdraw ATTRACTIVE BAY on veterinary grounds as it was found to be suffering from colic. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
LIQUID ASSET (Kiran Rai P) planted and lost many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. Babu Rao J was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.
Jockey A. Ramu, the rider of ZULU FANTASY, reported that his saddle shifted forward soon after jumping out of the starting gates as such he shifted out and inconvenienced FORTALEZA (Dashrat Singh) on his outside passing the 1200 Metres. After due examination of the equipment, Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna was fined Rs.3,000/- for faulty saddling.
Trainer Mr. Aravind G and Jockey Dashrat Singh were questioned if they could explain the disappointing performance of FORTALEZA. Mr. Aravind said that the filly had been fractious in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the Club’s Veterinarian and passed fit to race. He added even though she had been working well in good company, he was surprised she was a short priced favourite. Jockey Dashrat Singh said FORTALEZA did not travel well at any stage of the race and approaching the 600 Metres he had struck her with the whip to keep in touch with the leader, but she gave nothing in the straight. Their explanations were noted. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination, but no abnormality was reported.
