Racing Incidents

Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Narayana  Gowda.V to withdraw COMMANDPOST on veterinary grounds as it was found to have exertional rhabdomyolysis. He was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

An enquiry was held on 30th May, 2022 by the Stipendiary Stewards for the above race into the interference caused by Jockey Ahsan Qureshi on his mount HANDSOME MOVER in that he came ‘in’ and caused interference to the horses on his inside viz; STRIKING MELODY (S. Saqlain), FIERCE FIGHTER (Nazerul Alam) and RHAPSODY IN GREEN (P. Trevor) passing the 1400 Metres.

Jockey Ahsan Qureshi was interviewed by the Stipendiary Stewards. The Stipendiary Stewards after considering the submissions made by Jockey Ahsan Qureshi and after viewing the CCTV decided to charge Jockey Ahsan Qureshi for careless riding.

The Stipendiary Stewards thereafter suspended Jockey Ahsan Qureshi on 11th June, 2022 as he had pleaded guilty of the charge under Rule No. 161 (i) of the BTC Rules of Racing for Careless Riding on his mount HANDSOME MOVER (he is permitted to ride work and was informed of his right to appeal).

Jockey Rayan Ahmed R., the rider of ZEHNASEEB was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting 'in' and causing interference to SHAN E AZEEM (Arul J.H) on his inside passing the 500 Metres.

Jockey L. Alex Rozario, the rider of SOUTHERNARISTOCRAT was fined Rs.1,000/- for dropping hands in the final 200 Metres of the race.

Jockey Arul J.H, the rider of SHAN E AZEEM was fined Rs.2,000/- for not wearing goggles during the race.

Jockey Md.Akram, the rider of DRUMS OF WAR was reprimanded for taking an unduly long lead during the race.

It was reported after the race that DRUMS OF WAR (Md.Akram) burst its blood vessels. Trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

STRIKING MELODY (S. Saqlain) sustained superficial clip injury on left hock.

FIERCE FIGHTER (Nazerul Alam) was subjected to veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f RHAPSODY IN GREEN.
