TAIMUR (Bhawani Singh) was slowly away and lost few lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr.Karthik Ganapathy was informed not to accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a jump out on a starting gate practice day.

Jockey Akshay Kumar, the rider of SMASHING BLUE was severely reprimanded and warned for shifting 'in' and tightening GOLDEN OAKS (Salman Khan), which in turn passed it onto AUGUSTUS CAESAR (A. Prakash) and AUTOMATIC (P. S. Chouhan) on his inside soon after the start.

Jockey P. S. Chouhan, the rider of AUTOMATIC placed 4th by the judge objected against Jockey A. Prakash, the rider of AUGUSTUS CAESAR placed 3rd and Jockey Salman Khan, the rider of GOLDEN OAKS placed 2nd for “Immediately at the jump GOLDEN OAKS and AUGUSTUS CAESAR came 'in' sharply and knocked me out in the rails whereby my horse lost momentum because of which I lost a certain 2nd place”. The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned. After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection. As the objection was frivolous in nature the deposit of Rs.5,000/- by Jockey P. S. Chouhan was forfeited.
