Racing Incidents

STEVE MCQUEEN (Irshad Alam) reported the loss of whip at about the 400 metres.

OSCARS THUNDER (Zulquar Nain) jumped awkwardly outwards onto FANTASTIC HIT (Yash Narredu) who was slow to start and thereafter lost about 2 lengths.

WONDERFUL ERA (Colm O’Donoghue) was slow to start losing about a length.

Jockey Colm O’Donoghue the rider of WONDERFUL ERA was questioned with respect to positioning of his mount in the early part of the race to which jockey stated that his instructions were to sit in forward position. However, his mount took a slightly awkward jump whereby he could not follow trainer’s instructions, further considering the underfoot condition he decided to gradually improve and travel on the outer part of the track and did his best: however under pressure the filly was hanging out and was able to secure second place at best. Considering the underfoot condition Jockey’s explanation was noted.

Trainer B.Suresh was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his mare STAR CONVOY (Akshay Kumar) in this race as compared to previous runs. Trainer B.Suresh stated that his mare has come down in Class and that was the only reason she performed well and won the race. Trainer was informed that coming out and winning within a week gives a poor image of racing and was severely cautioned for the future.
