An objection was  lodged by Jockey Irfan Ali the rider of MISS SHARAPOVA placed fourth by the Judge against  Jockey Gurpreet Singh the rider HOT BLOOD placed second by the Judge for “coming onto me sharply, bumping me and disbalancing me on my  mount totally, at around 250 mts due to which I had to stop riding after being disbalanced and had to break the strides and that cost me a certain race”. The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race interviewed the Jockeys concerned and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and based on the observation of the race the Stewards were satisfied that an alteration to the placings could not be justified. Therefore, they decided to overrule the objection. The Security deposit was refunded.

Jockey Gurpreet Singh the rider of HOT BLOOD was reported to the Stewards for careless riding in that at around 250 mts he persisted in the use of the whip on the left shifting in thereby  bumping MISS SHARAPOVA (Irfan Ali) who received a severe interference.

The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed Jockey Gurpreet Singh and was shown the replay of the race.

After hearing his statements, considering the recommendation of the Stipendiary Steward and their own observation based on the replay of the  race and after due deliberations they decided to suspend  Jockey Gurpreet Singh from riding in races from  17^th March,2014 to 25^th March,2014 (both days inclusive) for careless riding thereby contravening  Rule No 161 (i) of RWITC Rules of Racing and Racing Calendar notification. He was permitted to ride work during the period of his suspension and was advised of his right of appeal.

Jockey Suresh Kumar the rider of AL ANZAR reported that his mount was inclined to hang in badly inspite  of his best efforts nearing 300 mts . Trainer H Ali Khan was informed to take remedial measures before accepting in race.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of MISTER SEXY trained by Rajinder and ridden by Jockey Sandeep Rajput.

MISTER SEXY & MISS SHAROPOVA were impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported no apparent abnormality.
