Jockey T S Jodha  the rider of SANG BLEU reported that his mount jumped awkwardly outwards from the starting gates thereby inconveniencing  the horses on his outside viz WINNERS GOLD (M B Qureshi)  which passed it onto BRAMHAPUTRI (C S Jodha).

Jockey Ranjeet Singh the  rider of  RYBACK, on questioning stated that his mount was not galloping fluently at any stages of the race and negotiating the bend it drifted out  and travelled wide on the outer portion of the race track. Jockey Ranjeet Singh was fined Rs.2000/- for failing to report the running of his mount immediately after the race.

Trainer Mallikarjun and Jockey G S Shekhawat were called in and questioned regarding the improved performance of TOT O WHISKEY as compared to its last run in Race No.195 THE ACE PLATE. A HANDICAP FOR INDIAN HORSES   RATED  40-66 (ABOUT) 1200 METRES on 16th February 2016 when ridden by same Jockey it was unplaced. The matter was reported to the Stewards.

The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed trainer Mallikarjun and  Jockey G S Shekhawat.

The trainer stated that:-

a)    TOT O WHISKEY ran for the second time under his charge, after he took over from Mr Zulfiqar Khan on 6th February 2016.
b)    In its last outing i.e. 195 it was drawn 12, hence the jockey could not follow the instructions initially and thereafter in the home straight, it suffered an interference.
c)    The horse was not fancied on both the times, but the jockey was advised to ride flat out.

The Jockey stated that:-

a)    In its last outing in Race No.195 on 16th February 2016 and today’s race, he was given the same instructions i.e. to position 5/6th and do his best on entering the straight.
b)    In its last outing i.e.No.195, as it was drawn 12, he could not follow the trainers instructions as the pace of the race initially being fast and in the home straight, he suffered some interference.
c)    Today’s race i.e. 201 he was drawn 5 wherein he was in a position to follow the instructions.

After hearing their statements, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and after due deliberations they decided to:-

(i) Fine Trainer Mallikarjun a sum of Rs.10000/- for the improved performance of his charge TOT O WHISKEY in Race No.201, as compared to its  last run in Race No.195 where it was unplaced when ridden by same jockey.
ii)    Fine jockey G S Shekhawat a sum of Rs.20000/- for not sufficiently persevering with his mount in Race No.195 on 16th February 2016.
        
They were advised of their right to appeal.

RYBACK was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported the horse had sustained abrasion right hind bulb of heel and fit for racing.

Urine sample was taken from the winner TOT O WHISKEY in the presence of  Trainer  Mallikarjun   and was sent for analytical test.
