Racing Incidents

Jockey Bhanu Pratp Singh the rider of ASHWA PREETI reported that after jumping out of the starting gates his mount raised its head up.

Trainer  S H Abbas was called in and questioned the improved performance of THE SHIELD the winner as compared to its last run in Race No.200 on 23rd Feb 2016 wherein it was unplaced. The trainer stated that:-

(i) He had given the same instruction in that to take a good jump and do his best on entering the straight.
(ii) In the last outing that is in Race No.200 his charge was in the front bunch upto last 100 mts and  thereafter dropped back, in the above race it was travelling 200 mts less, ridden by a  superior jockey and just managed to win by a neck.
(iii) There is no common runners.

His explanations were noted.

Urine sample was taken from the winner THE SHIELD in the presence of  Trainer  S H Abbas    and was sent for analytical test.
