As the start was effected, the front shutter of the first eight gates did not open but gate No.9 opened, whereby MISS UNIVERSE (Irfan Ali) jumped out and completed the course. Immediately the false start alarm “went on” and false start was declared. With the consent of Trainer Rajinder MISS UNIVERSE was withdrawn. During the course of enquiry at the starting gate, the technician stated that he had forgotten to lock the lever. The gates were checked and the horses were reloaded.   

Jockey Ramandeep Singh Bal the rider of MISS STAR reported soon after jumping out of the starting gate it stumbled.

Trainer Ajay Sharma and Jockey G S Shekhwat were called in and questioned regarding the running of JATS JET. Trainer stated that he had instructed the jockey to take a good jump and do his best on entering the straight. He was quite surprised the jockey had taken sufficient lead. The jockey when questioned stated that after jumping out, without any effort, his mount led the field and by restraining it, he did not want to break its stride, hence he allowed his mount to gallop in the same tempo. In its earlier race i.e.199 on 23rd February, 2016 Jockey T S Jodha had reported about JATS JET being very keen in the initial stages of the race. While noting their explanations an enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of JATS JET.

An enquiry opened into the running and riding of ROSSETTE QUEEN the winner Trained by  A Saulez and ridden by Jockey R Yousaf.

ROSSETTEQUEEN was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported no apparent abnormality.

Urine sample was taken from the winner ROSSETTE QUEEN in the presence of  Trainer A Saulez and was sent for analytical test.
