App. Jockey Rajesh Kumar Patel the rider of AL MAKTOUM reported that his mount jumped awkwardly outwards from the starting gates. He was reprimanded for the improper practice in that in the final stages of the race he was hitting the horse with his hands. He was further informed to desist from the undesirable practice.

Jockey J Chinoy the rider of TRUSTED MAN reported that his mount was not fluently  galloping in the final stages of the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Club’s Veterinary officer reported no apparent abnormality.

Trainer S Nawab was called in and questioned regarding the improved performance of AL MAKTOUM as compared to its last run in Race No.276 THE   I N S KULISH PLATE.DIV.II. A HANDICAP FOR  INDIAN HORSES 1-26 YEARS OLD, 5 YRS OLD & OVR(ABOUT) 1200 METRES on 11^th April 2016 wherein it was unplaced. The trainer stated that:-

1. He had given the same instructions on both occasions to take a good jump and lead the field and ride out on entering the straight.
2. As he felt that the use of  Cross Nose Band and Tongue strap the horse was not performing well hence he took permission to remove it.
3. This time he had declared a Jockey claiming 5 kgs allowance and the horse had extra 200 mts to cover.

His explanations were noted.

Urine sample was taken from the winner AL MAKTOUM in the presence of  Trainer S Nawab   and was sent for analytical test.
