Racing Incidents

Prior  to ‘ALL CLEAR’ being declared Jockey R Parvesh  the rider of  SCOOP THE POT placed third by the judge requested to view the race video with a view to considering  lodging an objection. After viewing the video Jockey  R Parvesh decided to proceed with an objection and accordingly an  objection lodged by Jockey R Parvesh the rider of SCOOP THE POT  placed third by the Judge against Jockey Gurpreet Singh the rider of MISS DUNCAN  placed first by the Judge for “ coming in sharply before the red marker giving me a severe check due to which my horse got clipped and I had to stop riding that cost me a certain place”.

Second objection was lodged by Trainer Magan Singh trainer of WINNERS GOLD ridden by Jockey Dhanu Singh Deora placed second  by the Judge against Jockey Gurpreet Singh the rider of MISS DUNCAN  placed first by the Judge for “coming in sharply passing 900 mts, cutting across  so sharply  to avoid a fall, the jockey had to stop the horse and this cost him a certain race.

The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race interviewed the Jockeys concerned and Trainer Magan Singh and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and based on the observation of the race the Stewards were not satisfied that an alteration to the placings could not be justified. Therefore, they decided to overrule the objection. The Security deposit was refunded.

Jockey Gurpreet Singh the rider of MISS DUNCAN was fined Rs.5000/- for coming sharply thereby causing interference to WINNERS GOLD (Dhanu Singh Deora) and SCOOP THE POT (R Parvesh) just passing the red marker post.

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that SCOOP THE POT bled. In terms of RWITC Racing calendar notification the horse has been banned  from racing for a stipulated period of 4 weeks (1st time bleeder). Trainer Shakti Singh was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

Trainer Richpal Singh was questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge MISS DUNCAN as compared to its last run in Race No.5 THE WELCOME TROPHY. A HANDICAP FOR INDIAN HORSES RATED 20-46  (ABOUT) 1000 METRES on 9th September 2016 where it was unplaced. The trainer stated that:-

a)    In its last run in Race No.5 on 9th September 2016 it was its first run for the season 2016-17.
b)    A incident has been reported and recorded in the particular race concerning his charge.
c)    He got remedial measures from the Club’s veterinary department and only then he did accept his charge in the above race.
d)    With the rectification being taken, he did expect his charge to run very positively.

His explanations were noted for future reference.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner MISS DUNCAN in the presence of Trainer Richpal Singh and SCOOP THE POT bleeder in the presence of Trainer Shakti Singh and sent for Analytical test.
