Jockey Dhanu Singh Deora the rider of BRILLANT RAJPUT was fined Rs.3000/- for  permitting his mount to shift out approaching 900 mts thereby bumped into MISS CHENNAI (Irfan Ali) on the outside which had to be checked by its rider who in turn passed it onto NORTHERN STAR (Md Asif Khan).

Trainer S Nawab and Jockey Shafeeq Ahmed were called in and questioned regarding the running and riding of MISS INDIA. Trainer stated that he had instructed the jockey to position 4^th /5^th and do his best on entering the straight. On corroborating the trainers statements, the jockey stated that soon after jumping out of the starting gate he tried to follow the trainers instructions however he could not get a clear run and thereafter from the 300 mts his mount was running erratic. However, not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Shafeeq Ahmed he was fined Rs.5000/- as he failed to make sufficient efforts to improve his position when it was reasonable and permissible to do so.

Trainer  H A Khan was questioned regarding the inconsistent pattern of running of MOONLIGHT the winner as compared to its last run in race No.53 THE CEREMONIAL PLATE.DIV.II. A HANDICAP FOR INDIAN HORSES RATED 1-26   (ABOUT) 1000 METRES ran on 20^th Oct.2016 where it was unplaced. The trainer stated that :-

1. He had instructed the jockeys in both the race to ride from the front position.

2. Today it was ridden by a full jockey as compared to the apprentice jockey in its earlier engagements  in race No.53.

3. Today his charge ran in a poor company.

Not being satisfied with his explanation he was reported to the Stewards after the last race. The Stewards after noting the explanation of trainer H A Khan tendered before the Stipendiary Steward resolved to fine Trainer H A Khan  a sum of Rs.10000/- for the inconsistent pattern of running of his charge MOONLIGHT. He was advised of the right of their appeal.                                         

The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that MISS CHENNAI bled. In terms of RWITC Racing calendar notification the horse has been banned  from racing for a stipulated period of 4 weeks (1^st time bleeder)  Trainer H A Khan was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to presenting for future trial or race.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner MOONLIGHT and MISS CHENNAI bleeder in the presence of Trainer H A Khan and sent for Analytical test.
