Permission was granted to Trainer Sartaj Singh to substitute Jockey Sameer Khan to SHANE PUNJAB in place of declared Jockey Shailesh Shinde.

Trainer Rajinder was questioned regarding improved performance of his charge TOP BRACKET the winner of this race as compared to its last run in Race THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA CUP. FOR INDIAN HORSES 4YRS.OLD & OVER (ABOUT) 1400 METRES ON 6TH DECEMBER, 2016 where it was unplaced.  The trainer stated that :-

a)    After its run in race no.72 on 31.10.2016 the horse was presented to Veterinary Clinic in the evening wherein the Club’s Veterinary Officer advised that his charge was suffering from stress due to joints of Fore legs and advised for sufficient rest.
b)    After having taking the opinion and passed fit by the Club’s Veterinary Officer he had accepted in a Terms race in Race No.109 on 6.12.2016, wherein he was quite satisfied with its run.
c)    In the above race he had instructed the Jockey to jump well, go forward to lead, if not position 2nd or 3rd and put his mount in good position and win the race and today it had to travel 200 mts. less and he was quite confident with its positive performance.

         However keeping in view the following mitigating circumstances :-

i)    That the Jockey in race 72 was reprimanded about his riding which has been recorded in the racing incident.
ii)    In its run in race no.72 & 109 it was dropped by 6 points.     
       
After considering of the above the trainer was given a benefit of doubt at this instance and advised to be more cautious in running of his charges.
        
App. Jockey R Rakesh the rider of GLORY AWAITS  reported that he could not clear run soon after jumping out of the Starting Gates and in the final stages of the race his mount started to drift in inspite of him using his whip on the right.

Jockey M Shahid the rider of JHILMIL was reprimanded for failing to infuse adequate vigour into his ride.

Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner TOP BRACKET in the presence of Trainer Rajinder and sent for analytical test.
