On a request from Trainer A.Khan ADELAIDE was examined at 10.00 a.m. on 8 Jan 2018 and was found to be lame on left fore leg. As such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary ground. The Trainer has been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to presenting his charge for future trial or race.

On a request from Trainer Zulfiqar Khan TOT O WHISKEY was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate ground.

GAMBLER RETURNS (Mohd Asif) was examined at the Starting gate and was found to be lame by its left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary ground. Trainer Sartaj Singh has been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to presenting his charge for future trial or race. There were no Deductions as a result of withdrawal of GAMBLER RETURNS.

BOLD OPINION (R Parmod) and MR CHAIRMAN (Mohanlal) were slowly away.

Jockey Praveen Saini (WHIFF OF GOLD) has been cautioned for shifting in near 1000 metres and inconveniencing ASHWA GAURAVI (Khet Singh).
 
Jockey Mohanlal (MR CHAIRMAN) has been cautioned for prematurely easing out his mount before passing the Post.

Trainer I S Parmar and Jockey Khet Singh were questioned regarding the running and riding of ASHWA GAURVI. Trainer stated that he instructed the jockey to take a quick jump and settle the horse in 4th,5th or 6th and do his best in the straight. He further stated that his charge was running after it suffered from colic and could have been weak. To another query, he stated that the horse was fit to race otherwise he would not have accepted with it. Jockey Khet Singh stated that he had followed the Instructions. Not being satisfied with his explanation of the Jockey, he was cautioned for not being vigorous in his riding. Trainer IS Parmar has been asked to submit the logbooks in respect of his charge. The scrutiny of the logbooks did not reveal any discrepancy. The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that WHIFF OF GOLD broke a blood vessel. The mare has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. Trainer Raj Kumar Saini has been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to presenting his charge for future trial or race.

Urine sample from winner, SEA STORM, and WHIFF OF GOLD were sent for analytical test.
