An Objection was lodged by Jockey Arman Ali Jafri (DAZZLING GLORY), placed fourth by the Judge against Jockey Md Asif Khan (MUMTAZ BEGUM), placed third by the Judge for “coming in sharply soon after the jump, whereby bumping me and forcing me to stop riding. I got unbalanced and could not ride out properly and that cost me a certain race.”

Second objection was lodged by Jockey R Parvesh (HE IS THE MAN), placed Second by the judge against Jockey Sameer Qureshi (SACHARINES), placed first by the judge for coming in sharply before the red marker , taking the ground and giving me a severe check, forcing me to stop riding and I had to check my mount and got dis-balanced between 1000 and 900 mts and that cost me a certain race”.

A Stewards’ Enquiry was held at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards in to the interference caused by MUMTAZ BEGUM (Md Asif Khan) soon after the start.

The Stewards held an enquiry after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Stewards and based on the observation of the incident, decided to overrule the objection lodged by Jockey R Parvesh and further decided to disqualify MUMTAZ BEGUM, placed Third, and revised the order of placings as under:-

SACHARINES FIRST; DAZZLING GLORY THIRD; HE IS HE MAN SECOND; DANCES AWAY FOURTH.

The Stewards adjudged that Jockey Md. Asif Khan had ridden in a dangerous manner and Jockey Sameer Qureshi was charged with Careless Riding.

The Stewards having heard the submissions made by Jockey Md Asif Khan and Jockey Arman Ali Jafri at the time of deciding the Objection, and the exception by the Stipendiary Stewards to your riding, and having viewed the video recording of the incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that Jockey Md Asif Khan had ridden in a dangerous manner wherein he had continuously shifted in from Draw 7 and tightened DAZZLING GLORY (Arman Ali Jafri) who went in on to DANCES AWAY (Praveen Saini) and caused severe interference to SOUTH PRINCESS (C Umesh) who while losing position clipped the heels of DANCES AWAY and stumbled due to which Jockey C Umesh completely lost his balance and was almost dislodged and as SOUTH PRINCESS regained her balance, she shifted out on to GHUNGROO (Rajinder Saini).

The Stewards decided to suspend the Jockey’s License granted to Jockey Md. Asif Khan for a period covering six Race Days i.e. with effect from 4th December 2018 to 8th January 2019. (Permitted to ride Work/ Mock race). The Jockey was reminded of his right to Appeal.

The Stewards having heard the submissions made by Jockey Sameer Qureshi and Jockey R Parvesh at the time of deciding the Objection, and the exception by the Stipendiary Stewards to your riding, and having viewed the video recording of the incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that he had ridden in a Careless manner wherein he had continuously shifted in from Draw 8, and passing the 900 metres went across HE IS THE MAN when not sufficiently clear and caused interference to HE IS THE MAN whose Rider had to take evasive action and this could have caused an accident. He had made no attempt to correct the inward movement of his mount. The Stewards also took note of the fact that you had gone away without the enquiry being completed and the Stewards had to wait to give their decision in the matter. The Stewards decided to suspend the Jockey’s License granted to Sameer Qureshi for a period covering three Race Days i.e. with effect from 4th December 2018 to 18th December 2018. (Permitted to ride Work/ Mock race). The Jockey was reminded of his right to Appeal.

Trainer Mohsin Khan (GHUNGROO) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for providing incorrect colours to the Jockey who wore them in the Paddock. The Jockey wore the correct colours. The veterinary examination of SOUTH PRINCESS had a cut injury on right fore and left hind leg and ACKER BILK had a cut injury on left-fore leg. Trainers Ajay Sharma & S Ali Khan have been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to presenting his charge for any trial or race.
