Racing Incidents

The left iron of the stirrup on the saddle of AMAZING INFERNO (Arman Ali Jafri) broke soon after the jumped out and the Jockey was dislodged. The Jockey was declared medically unfit to ride.

An  objection was lodged by Jockey Akash Rajput (SACHARINES), placed second  by the Judge against DARJEELING (SA Shah), placed first by the Judge for “coming in sharply and bumping me badly after passing 200 metres  even after he continued  to show the whip to my mount till the end of the race due to which my mount was shifted and refuse to gallop properly due to that cost me a certain race”.  The Stewards held an enquiry after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned and after deliberations, and considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Stewards and based on their own observation of the race, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection. The Security deposit was refunded. 

Jockey SA Shah (DARJEELING) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
