An objection was lodged by Mr. Rajinder, Trainer of PLAYER, placed fourth, by the Judge against MASTER VANPERISE (B Nikhil), the Winner, “for bumping and crossing my horse at 800 metres due to which my Jockey had received a severe check, was unbalanced and stopped riding and lost a certain place.” Also, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards’ Enquiry was initiated into the interference caused by ASHWA SIKKANDER (Dhanu Singh Deora) to MASTER VANPERISE.

The Stewards held an enquiry after the race and interviewed the Trainer and the Jockeys concerned and having heard their submissions and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Stewards and based on their own observation of the incident, decided to overrule the objection. The Security deposit was refunded. However, the Stewards decided to revise the Order of Placing as a result of the outcome of the Stewards enquiry as under:-

MASTER VANPERISE FIRST; KIRPAN SECOND;
PLAYER THIRD; ASHWA SIKKANDER FOURTH.

Jockey Dhanu S Deora (ASHWA SIKKANDER) has been fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting in and tightening MASTER VANPERISE (B Nikhil) who in turn tightened PLAYER (Akash Rajput).

Jockey Praveen Saini (KIRPAN) has been fined Rs.5,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

RACE NO. 16 – THE R. R. RUIA MEMORIAL CUP RUN ON 13TH SEPTEMBER 2019

Trainer A Khan and Jockey Bhanu P Singh were questioned regarding the running and riding of PERSONAL LEGEND and not being satisfied with the explanation of the Jockey wherein he was observed to have accepted his position and relaxed due to which the gelding lost its position and finished last. As such, the Jockey has been cautioned for failing to take up an advantageous position in the race and the Trainer has been asked to be more careful with regard to the running of his charges in future.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE POSITIVE FINDING OF “CAFFEINE, THEOPHYLLINE, THEOBROMINE & PARAXANTHINE” IN THE URINE SAMPLE OF “TERRIFIC” (WINNER) IN RACE NO. 276 – THE PALAMPET PLATE (DIV-II) - RUN ON 16TH APRIL 2019:

The Stewards of the Meeting at their meeting held on 17th September 2019 interviewed Trainer HA Khan with regard to the captioned subject matter.

The Stewards having heard all the submissions made by him, having considered all the papers and documents and having deliberated the matter at length were not satisfied with his explanation and held him in violation of the Medication Rules of the RWITC Ltd and he was liable for action for the presence of prohibited substance in the urine sample of his charge, TERRIFIC, as the Trainer was always responsible for the safety and protection of the horses in his care and control. The Stewards noted that he had no mitigating circumstances to offer.

Therefore, the Stewards have decided to suspend his Trainer’s License for a period of two months and to impose a fine of Rs.15,000/- for the positive finding of a prohibited substance, as stated in the captioned subject matter, in the urine sample of TERRIFIC.

Further, his Trainer’s License will stand suspended for 10 days as an additional penalty for the positive finding of Atenolol, Class 3 drug, in the sample of ATTICUS which falls within the block period of 5 years.

In view of the above, his Trainer’s License will stand suspended w.e.f. 06th October 2019 to 05th December 2019 (both days inclusive) and further from 6th December 2019 to 15th December 2019 (both days inclusive).

The Trainer was reminded of his right to Appeal.
