Racing Incidents

Before being loaded, CLASSIFIED (Dhanu S Deora) was extremely fractious. Trainer Magan Singh has been asked to give sufficient gate practice before next accepting to race.

At the start, MEHENDI (Danish Ali Khan) was extremely fractious inside its stall. Trainer K Ali Khan has been asked to give sufficient gate practice before next accepting to race.

At the start, TALENTED (Ranjeet Singh) shifted outwards and went on to CLASSIFIED and at the same time, CLASSIFED (Dhanu S Deora) had also jumped awkwardly outwards and went onto SNOW BELL (Md Asif Khan).

At the start, MEHENDI (Danish Ali Khan) was observed to have put her head down due to which the jockey had to give long reins to the filly due to which she was not fluently into her strides.

Jockey Md Asif khan (SNOW BELL) reported that after the interference at the start, his mount did not travel well in the race. A Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.

Near 300 metres, CLASSIFED (Dhanu S Deora) commended to shift out and in the process went across MEHENDI (Danish Ali Khan) with the jockey not making any effort to control the outward movement of his mount till the 200 metres, as such, he has been cautioned.

Approaching 900 metres, TAPI (Akash Rajput) shifted in and went across TALENTED (Ranjeet Singh) who was steadied. Jockey Akash Rajput has been severely reprimanded.

Jockey Ranjeet Singh (TALENTED) reported that soon after the start, his mount threw its head up and in order to control his mount, the filly lost her position.

On a verbal complaint from the Owner and Trainer of TALENTED, an enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of the filly.

The veterinary examination of CLASSIFIED did not reveal any apparent abnormality.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

The Stewards considered the report from the Stipendiary Stewards at their meeting held on 25th September 2019 that Trainer Magan Singh and Jockey Ranjeet Singh were questioned with regard to the captioned subject matter.

Stating his complaint, Trainer Magan Singh said that the Jockey was instructed to go to the front and someone chases then to be in 2nd position and to do his best in the straight. He added that after the start, the filly was in front but suddenly she raised her head and lost position. He did not take exception to the Jockey’s riding after that in the race.

The Jockey confirmed the instructions and stated that after the start, his filly was travelling well and he was in front but as he gave support to the filly, she threw her head up due to which he lost position and then TAPI came in front of his mount and he had to check his mount and thereafter he has done his best and he has always been in touch with the front runners. He added that the filly had shown a tendency to shift outwards and he has been controlling her and riding. He added that the filly had normal snaffle and probably has soft mouth and therefore, she threw her head up as he gave her support. He has suggested to the Trainer to use a Rubber Bit on her. He further added that after the race, he had enquired from Jockey Dhanu S Deora, who has ridden her on the previous occasion, if she had soft mouth and Jockey Deora had informed if that she has. He also informed that in the earlier run in Race no. 17, Jockey Dhanu S Deora had sat on the saddle once and in his opinion the filly must have done something which may have caused Jockey Deora to sit in the saddle for a stride and a similar thing had happened with him. To another query, the Jockey informed that he has ridden the filly for the very first time and added that he had not even worked her. He was not informed about the habit of the filly.

On a query, Trainer Magan Singh stated that the Jockey has informed him to change the bit on her and added that she had not thrown her head before. She could have finished better, closer to the horses, she could have run a different race had she not lost her position. The Jockey contended that she would have finished the same way as he felt that the other two horses – TAPI & ANGEL - had passed her easily.

The Trainer has been asked to have the mouth of the filly examined by the veterinarians.

Both the races of the filly were viewed, in slow motion as well as in normal view.

The Stewards having considered the matter and after deliberations decided not to initiate any action against the Jockey, however, the Jockey has been asked to be more careful in future.
