MASTER BADAL was withdrawn before coming under starter’s orders as the gelding was extremely fractious inside its stall. Trainer Mallikarjun has been asked to give his charge sufficient gate practice before next accepting to race. As a consequence of MASTER BADAL being withdrawn, a deduction of 10% on Win and 50% on Place bets was affected. At the start, SPARTAN X (Md. Asif Khan) jumped out awkwardly and began slowly, losing about two lengths. The Jockey explained that his mount had leaned on to its Stall and threw its head as the start was affected. Jockey Md. Asif Khan (SPARTAN X) has been cautioned for failing to sufficiently persevere with his mount in the straight. Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh (PERSONAL LEGEND) was observed to have ridden his mount feebly in the straight. After the race, the Jockey complained of dizziness and nausea feeling and received medical attention, as such, no action has been initiated against the Jockey. The Veterinary Doctor reported that the hooks did not have much racing significance. The Jockey was informed that there was no real effort on his part to ride out his mount when he had room on the inside of PERSONAL LEGEND and he could have pulled his mount out and ridden, which he did not do. He had made efforts to pull out his mount but by then the race was over, which was agreed to by the Trainer. Both were informed that had the Jockey persevered sufficiently with his mount and pulled his mount out, he could have finished 3rd as he lost the Place by a narrow margin of 1½ length but he chose to remain behind PERSONAL LEGEND most of the time. However, giving credence to the Veterinary Report, the Jockey has only been fined Rs.5,000/ for failing to persevere with his mount and has been severely warned for the future. Jockey R Rakesh and Trainer Sangeet Charan were questioned on 12th October 2019 regarding the riding of the Jockey on ORGANIC GREY in the final 300 metres. The Instructions were to brush up the gelding as he does not have initial speed and sit wherever comfortable and ride out in the straight. He observed that the gelding took an awkward jump and threw his head up and he was left behind as it was a 1000 metres race. He added that the Jockey informed him that whenever he would put pressure on the gelding, the gelding would throw his head. He had the gelding examined by the Veterinary Doctors and hooks have been found on either side of its mouth and handed over a Report of the same. Explaining his ride in the straight, the Jockey stated that he wanted his mount to come from along the rails but the gelding was not going and the horse in front was dropping and he thought of taking his mount inside and could not pull the mount out as there were horses on his outside. |
