Racing Incidents

At the start, VEDAGARBHA (K Narender Kr.) was slowly away.

On being questioned regarding running and riding of CHIEFTIAN trainer S Nawab stated that he instructed the rider to sit 3/4th and do his best. Jockey TS Jodha said that he was instructed to sit 4/5th and do his best.

When asked about shifting his ground and travelling out in the straight, losing valuable ground whereas he had sufficient room to travel from inside the rider stated that he anticipated front runners to shift IN so he decided to travel from outside.

Not being satisfied with their explanation they were directed to appear before the Stewards after the last race.

The Stewards interviewed Trainer S Nawab and jockey TS Jodha and after having heard them and the submission made by the Stipendiary Stewards, viewed front and back view of race recording and they also noted drift in odds from 60/100 to 2.50 and after deliberation held them guilty of Unsatisfactory running and riding of
CHIEFTIAN and decided:

1.    To suspend Jockey TS Jodha license from 30th Nov 2024 to 7th January 2025 (both days inclusive). Not permitted to ride work during his suspension period.

2.    To fine trainer S Nawab a sum of Rs 20,000/-.

They were reminded of their right to appeal.
 
Veterinary examination of ASHWA SULTAN & CHIEFTAIN revealed no apparent abnormality.
