Racing Incidents
Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji and Jockey S John were questioned regarding the running and riding of FORZA. The Trainer stated that he had instructed the rider to keep his charge in third or fourth position during the early part of the race and ride out in the straight. As he could observe in the race, his charge was denied a clear run during the early part of the race due to crowding of the field and also, during the final stages of the race and that in the circumstances, he was satisfied with the handling of his charge by Jockey S John. Jockey S John when questioned stated that soon after the start, he was interfered twice; As he did not want to travel wide, he tucked his mount on the inside and thereafter, he gradually improved his position and again in the straight and during the final stages also, he was denied a clear run. While noting their explanations, Jockey S John was cautioned to be more judicious in handling his mount in future.
