Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. M Pratap Kamath to substitute Jockey D Gnaneshwar to ride AZURE FIRE in place of the declared rider. SECRET TREASURE (Mudassar Nazar) jumped awkwardly outwards, swerved to the left, thereby causing inconvenience to FLYING TRICOLOUR (M Kumar), on its outside, dislodged the rider and took no part in the Race. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. M Eshwer was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in Two Mock Races on Race Days on the race track. FLYING TRICOLOUR (M Kumar) reared up as the Gates opened and lost a few lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. S Santosh Rao was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Jump Out on a Starting Gate Practice Day. Jockey Irvan Singh, the rider of IMPRESSIVE BOLT, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort to improve his position during the early stages of the race. Jockey Ryan Marshall, the rider of DIVINE FRIENDSHIP, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming 'in' and causing interference to DIVINE DELIVERANCE (J Paswan) on his inside, approaching the 1000 Metres. Jockey M Kumar, the rider of FLYING TRICOLOUR, was reprimanded for travelling wide, rounding the final bend and in the straight, for no apparent reason. Trainer Mr. M Bobby and Jockey L Prashant were questioned regarding the relatively poor performance of DISTANT PROMISE in the above Race in relation to its previous run in Race No.65 of the Mysore Summer Races 2014, i.e., The Nethravati Plate (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 60 and above, run on Eleventh Day, Thursday, 10th July, 2014, when ridden by the same rider, it finished Third. The Trainer's explanation was: (a) The last run was good run in a good company and based on that, he accepted this horse to run in the above Race today and was expecting it to win the Race; (b) According to him, the horse might not have relished the going, which was on the softer side and other than this, he could not attribute any reason for its performance as he himself was shocked at its poor showing; (c) the horse was examined even after the Race and also, the next day and it was trotting sound. Jockey L Prashant stated that last time, the horse was on the bit and ran well, but, today, in a soft going,v that too being the Fifth Race, wherein the Race Track had taken a beating, probably, his mount did not relish the underfoot conditions and ran poorly. Their explanations were noted. Trainer Mr. Rakesh was questioned regarding the relatively improved performance of his charge, b g DIVINE FRIENDSHIP [Ryan Marshall], the Winner of the above Race, as compared to its previous run in Race No. 65 of the Mysore Summer Races 2014, i.e., The Nethravati Plate (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 60 and above, run on Eleventh Day, Thursday, 10th July, 2014, when ridden by the same rider, it ran unplaced. The Trainer stated that (a) this horse had been a fair performer during the Mysore Winter Races 2013-14, having won three Races, and it ran for the first time during the current Season and its last run was its second run; (b) based on its previous performance, he fancied this horse last time very strongly to win the Race, but, was totally disappointed at its performance; (c) soon after the Race, it was reported to him, which he observed also in the presence of the Senior Veterinary Officer of the Club, that the left hind shoe of the horse had apparently splayed during the Race and as per his observation, the horse was trying to run 'out', despite the efforts of the rider to keep it on an even course; (d) unfortunately, it finished close with the Winner and the placed horses in the Race; (e) he would attribute the reason for the splaying of the shoe in its last run as the horse had played up on the way to the Gates, which resulted in the shoe getting splayed; (f) while he was totally confused at its last run, today, he ran it in the above Race because the Season was coming to a close and this horse would be meeting a much better company during the Regular Season. While noting his explanations, Trainer Mr. Rakesh was cautioned to be judicious as to the frequency of running of his charges. Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner, b g DIVINE FRIENDSHIP. |
