Trainer Mr. Rakesh was questioned as to the improved performance of his charge GRAND TENTON (S John), the winner of the above Race as compared to its previous run in Race No. 13 of the Mysore Summer Races 2019, i.e., The Nagamangala Plate (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 60 and above, run on 2nd Day, Wednesday, 29th May, 2019, when ridden by Jockey Irvan Singh, it ran unplaced. The Trainer stated as follows; a) In its previous run, it ran in an open class for horses rated 60 and above, run over 6 furlongs; b) This time, it ran over 7 furlongs and and for horses rated 40 to 65, 5 year old and upwards, down one class as compared to its previous run; c) He was ridden by Jockey S John in this race, a rider of better calibre, as compared Jockey Irvan Singh, who rode it in its previous run; d) After its previous run, he had given it three gallops and one Gate Jump out; e) This charge of his was a well bred horse and this was only its second run in this centre and had shown tremendous improvement during the Morning Track and that he had run it after a gap of 29 days; f) In its previous run, he had instructed his rider to take a good jump and sit up there, as it was its first run in this centre, but it had not shown any initial speed and after the Race, his rider had told him to run it over 7 furlongs; g) In this run he had instructed the rider to sit in second or third position and to do his best in the straight and his charge came out and won the Race; h) After this Race also his rider had come and informed him to run it over a mile as this horse could take the distance. His explanations were noted for future reference.
