HUNAR was extremely fractious to be stalled. Tr. Imtiaz A Sait was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

HIGH SPIRIT was slow to begin.

Jockey S Saqlain, the rider of ASTERIX, reported that his mount was running green throughout the race and had no contact with the bit at any stages of the race. Tr Javed Khan was advised to take appropriate remedial measures.

The Veterinary Officer reported that TAHOE returned with a cut injury on its mouth.

GALEN was extremely fractious and refused to be stalled in spite of repeated attempts. Under the circumstances the horse was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked.

TIGRIO was extremely difficult to load. Tr. Shyam S Habbu was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

PRESIDENTIAL was slow to begin losing approximately 3 – 4 lengths at the start.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of MYSTIC BAY, reported that his mount was not responding to his urgings as such he eased up his mount during the last 150 metres of the race, was noted.

COMPLIANCE arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. As Tr. Patrick Quinn had been warned and fined earlier for late arrival of his charges to the start, he has now been fined a sum of Rs. 4,000/- for this instance.

NEW HUSTLE was extremely fractious and refused to be stalled in spite of repeated attempts. Under the circumstances the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked.

CASTILLO was extremely difficult to load. Tr. D M David was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.

MEMORABLE MEMORIES which was difficult to load, was slow to begin. COMPLIANCE was fractious in its stall.
SPORTING TRAINER and FOOTPRINTS were slow to begin.
 
App P Tejeshwar, the rider of CASTILLO, was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for excessive use of the whip (2nd infringement).

b m SO SO SPECIAL was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Tuesday, 24th January, 2023 and found to be lame on left hind. Tr. Rajesh Narredu was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

The following objections were lodged :-

a)    App L Alex Rozario, the rider of RIMEL placed 4th by the Judge, lodged an objection against App Hasib Alam, the rider of COLD PURSUIT placed 1st by the Judge and Jockey S Saqlain, the rider of ARROW POINT placed 3rd, on the grounds of “in the last 100 metres when my horse was in full of running the winner and the 3rd placed horse came onto me and completely closed the gap which cost me the race”.

b)    Jockey S Saqlain, the rider of ARROW POINT, placed 3rd by the Judge, lodged an objection against App Hasib Alam, the rider of COLD PURSUIT placed 1st, on the grounds of “taking my ground from about 250 metres and taking me in when my mount was bumped in the last 50 metres whereby I completely checked my mount which cost me the race”.

The Stewards after interviewing App L Alex Rozario, Jockey S Saqlain and App Hasib Alam, viewing the CCTV replay of the race and taking into consideration the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward decided to :-

a)    Overrule the objection raised by App L Alex Rozario.
b)    Uphold the objection raised by Jockey S Saqlain and revised the Judge’s placings as under :- 
FULL OF GRACE    -    1st
ARROW POINT    -    2nd
COLD PURSUIT    -    3rd
RIMEL    -    4th

Thereafter, the “All Clear” signal was ordered to be hoisted.

The enquiry into the careless riding by App Hasib Alam will be conducted later.

MANDEVILLE planted losing over a distance at the start. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked.

STOCKBRIDGE (Neeraj Rawal) had to be steadied by its rider approaching the 700 metres due to the slow pace of the race. Consequently THIRD AVENUE travelling behind too slowed down and Jockey Hindu Singh (JAKE) travelling behind had to shift out clipping MANDEVILLE in the bargain.

App P Tejeshwar, the rider of THIRD AVENUE, was suspended from riding in races on 2nd & 11th February, 2023 for excessive use of the whip (3rd infringement).
 
The Veterinary Officer reported that STOCKBRIDGE returned with a cut injury on its mouth.

BY THE BAY and DELPHINI were re-saddled at the start. DELPHINI was difficult to load.
SUPREME LEGACY which was fractious in its stall, was slow to begin.

The Veterinary Officer reported that ARECA LEGEND returned bleeding from its nostrils. Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
