SEA DRAGON (drawn 5) jumped awkwardly inwards inconveniencing INDIAN STAR (drawn 4).

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of COPPER, reported that his mount was hanging out throughout the race in spite of his best efforts to keep it on a straight course. Tr. Javed Khan was advised to take appropriate remedial measures.

Jockey Sujit Kr Paswan, the rider of SCRIPT, was fined a sum of Rs. 3,000/- for excessive use of the whip (1st infringement). The rider was further advised to take appropriate measures to correct his whipping action failing which action as deemed fit will be initiated against him.

Tr. Vikash Jaiswal when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge b g SCRIPT as compared to its previous runs, stated that :-

a) SCRIPT’s last run was in 1600 metres on 18/01/23 where he was leading till 1300 metres with apprentice and then faded.

b) This time he was running with all six maiden horses, I put experience jockey and field was poor so he won.

c) I didn't expect him to win but happy for my owners they had a winner.

The enquiry into the above shall be continued.

On the morning of Sunday, 29th January, 2023 ch f EASTERN EMPRESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on right hind. Tr. Rutherford Alford was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

PEPPER (Y S Srinath) was extremely fractious in its stall, reared up dislodging its rider, in the process the Jockey sustained blunt injury on his right knee. Under the circumstances the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. The Jockey was given immediate medical attention and declared unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements for the day.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of PONTIUS PILATE, reported that his mount was not galloping fluently throughout the race and trotted back lame. On veterinary examination the horse was found to be lame on its left fore. Tr. Shafiq Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Tr. B Mahesh and Jockey H Rahul when afforded an opportunity to explain the running and riding of b g THE FLYING EAGLE, the Trainer stated that :-

a) My instructions to the Jockey H Rahul were - I told him the race will be fast so take a good jump, sit wherever you are comfortable and don’t use the gelding in the initial part, give him a chance and bring him gradually and do your best in the straight.

b) In my view the jockey followed my instructions, rode the gelding in a proper way and as compared to his last two runs the gelding ran on its merit and I am happy the horse finished 3rd .

The Jockey corroborated the Trainer’s instructions and further stated that the initial pace of the race was too fast, the front runners came back which helped his mount to finish on 3rd .

The Stipendiary Steward not being satisfied with the explanations tendered, decided that the enquiry into the above will be continued.

MONTEVERDI was fractious in its stall.

Jockey A Sandesh, the rider of MONTEVERDI, was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for excessive use of the whip (2nd infringement).

Tr. B Mahesh and Jockey P Surya when afforded an opportunity to explain the running and riding of b g AGOSTINO CARRACCI, the Trainer stated that :-

a) My instructions to jockey P Surya was to take a good jump, take a cover and sit 3rd or 4th and in the straight show the daylight and do your best.

b) In my view the Jockey didn’t improve the horse in the middle stage of the race, he should have improved his position but he didn’t. I am really disappointed the way he rode the gelding.

The Jockey while corroborating the instructions stated that as he was drawn on the outside, he tucked his mount in, in stead of travelling wide all the way, gave it every opportunity and rode his mount out in the final straight.

The Stipendiary Steward not being satisfied with the explanations tendered, decided that the enquiry into the above will be continued.

SILVERITA was difficult to load.

BASHARAT was slow to begin.

THUNDERCLAP drifted out to the outer rails from the top of the straight. Tr. Aashay Doctor was advised to take appropriate remedial measures.

Tr. Vijay Singh was reprimanded for the late arrival of his charge LITTORIO (A Sandesh) to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. The trainer was further advised to ensure that his charges arrive on time in future.

RAMIEL jumped awkwardly outwards from the gates.

Jockey A Sandesh, the rider of LITTORIO, reported that his mount dropped out of contention from around the final bend and failed to respond to his urgings in the straight. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the colt and submit his report. On the morning of Sunday, 29th January, 2023 the colt was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on left hind. Tr. Vijay Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

CASTILLO and ROVANIEMI were difficult to load.

MEMORABLE MEMORIES was slow to begin.

ROVANIEMI which was at the helm of the field till the final bend dropped out and finished the race detached from the field.

On the morning of Sunday, 29th January, 2023 the Veterinary Officer examined the following horses and submitted his reports as under :-

a) ch m MEMORABLE MEMORIES was found to be lame on right fore.

b) dk b g ROVANIEMI was found to be lame on left hind.

Trs . Shafiq Khan and B Mahesh were informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
