Trainer S Nawab reported that his Jockey Rajinder Saini unnecessarily took a long lead on top weighted horse CHIEFTAIN as in final stage nothing was left in the horse and lost by a nose. When questioned Jockey Rajinder Saini stated that he was asked to sit in front or 2nd position and he was holding the horse from the start, however, his horse was keen and went to front, even then he was holding the horse and being top weighted he gradually asked horse to move from about 500 meters. However in final stages inspite of doing his best he lost the race by a nose.

Race was viewed and it was observed that from about 700 meters he had allowed the horse to improve and even tapped the horse at about 600 meters which was not required as the horse was already in long lead. In the straight jockey has ridden out the horse.

Club veterinary officer reported that after the race horse was found to be lame by its left fore leg. Considering the Veterinary report no action was initiated.
