2.15 #1 CRISTO BOSS is resuming, he will appreciate the drop in grade, the claim helps and he can show up fresh, watch for support.

2.45 #5 RELENTLESS PURSUIT is resuming for new trainer and since racing in better company earlier in career. Can take a hand in the finish if forward enough. Monitor betting.

3.15 #4 ARLENE should be followed until beaten. Hard to beat.

3.45 #4 DANCING LORD put in a fair run on resumption and now drops in grade. Should be hard to beat here with ace rider repeating.

4.15 #11 SWEET TEMPTATION resumes and should be fit enough after solid trials. Looks set for a maiden win here.

4.45 #9 FRANZ FERDINAND raced on the speed and weakened when fourth over 1400m last start. The shorter journey looks a plus and rates as one of the main chances. Strong fancy.

5.15 Well bred #1 MULTISTAR'S recent form poor but now drops in grade and with blinkers off could show up in this ordinary set.

Tomorrow at Mumbai the Velvet Rope Trophy is being run for 2000 mtrs with just four runners. With two runners at the bottom of the scale P Shroff holds the whip hand. But with two different top owners ie... Mistry's Commondore and Mallya's Arlene wonder whom he will go with. Both have top jockeys on them.
With Remember Me outclassed and Jack Frost out handicapped will it be a perfect race for Doosra?

Here's hoping you all get off to a winning in the brand new year....

The card looks promising. VM's Arlene takes on experienced rivals in Velvet Rope Trophy and will have to pull out all the stops in this company to prevail....

Race no. 3:
Arlene is pitted against Jack Frost and Commodore. JF last won two years ago and though top-rated may find it difficult to concede weight to the two younger horses. I believe last-time favourite Commodore should pose a bigger threat to Arlene. But as they say 'follow a winner till it loses', so I am plumping for Arlene.

Race no. 4:
Sensex, Fringe Benefit, Dancing Lord and Godsent are the prime contenders here. I am not sure Sensex can defy the penalty. Dancing Lord had a good lung-opener and will be in the firing line. YSS-ridden Godsent has raced in better company and now back to Class IV and more suitable 200M less distance should see him through. Godsent to win from Dancing Lord.

Race no. 5:
Looks to be between Sweet Temptation and Spiridon. I am not too enamoured of debutant Signor. ST has raced in better company and in my mind is the default contender here. However, Spiridon's second to Classicus makes him my choice to win this race.

Race no. 6:
Turf Dancer, Ancient Glory and Franz Ferdinand are the prime contenders here. Mr Champaklal Zaveri's Turf Dancer will win the day he is given the orders. I am ruling out FF on account of bad draw and less experience. My choice falls on Ancient Glory who could well be carrying a penalty but for the narrow loss in his last outing.
