Will Indian Racing Revive ?

By Race-goer | 19-Apr-2020

The Corona virus has dealt a body blow to many industries which probably also includes the racing industry. It is a well known fact that the majority of punters lose their money at the races. Now the new possibility is that they may end up losing their lives as well as their money if they enter the race-course owing to the fact that maintaining a social distance of 1 to 3 metres constantly is difficult in the confines of the race-course. Also, many punters will have to travel via crowded public transport vehicles to the race-course, thus adding to the risks involved . My question is:  Will the punters of  India risk their very lives in order to be inside a race-course only for the dubious "pleasure" of losing their-hard earned money ? Also, if the punters choose not to attend the races in order to avoid risking their lives, will the race-clubs be able to survive with vastly diminished revenues? Keep in mind that this virus may lurk around for several years. Your opinions please, my friends.

I agree with Mr. S C Sharma. Lets stay at home and stay safe. Many more winters will come. Hope for the best.

Hello folks,

Racing will certainly bounce back. Have no fears on that.
Kept on hold till the pandemic eases. Once that happens then we shall hear the thunder of hooves once again.

Hopefully, very soon.

regds,
Cruise

This is a great opportunity to make an All India tote online betting pool viable. We will achieve social distance too!

Equine is a sport

It will survive as all the sports which will start after Corona menace

Each and every sport can not survive without spectotors or respective sport lovers

So is equine it will definitely survive with all the sports

Let us be optimistic towards sport

If we are not optimistic every sport will get spoiled as they are dependent on respective sport lovers racing  will survive along with other sports.

I have a question in mind.

Whenever horse racing starts all will try to compensate for their respective lossess. Club, Owners, Trainers and Jockeys and bookies.

Above all Punters too continue to pump money.

In this scenario whether (1) More Upset with rank outdider (2) Mild Upset wth 2nd or 3rd fav (3) Mostly Fav Win.

Regards

SPS

It looks like the lockdown may be lifted on May 1, and tentatively we should be able to move the horses till May 15 to Pune after the arrangements are made there during this gap of 15 days. But all depends on the COVID-19 situation on April 30, 2020,” said Mr. Nagpal. (Steaward and Chairmen of RWITC) - On April 13

This statement shows that the PUNE season may start. Let us hope for the besst.

Time to make a common tote and free live racing and online betting, else the industry will be history by end of this decade.

Time to put the big heads egos aside and work as a team to survive.

Race goer:

Please think positively. Racing will revive soon and everything will continue as usual in a normalway soon. If you feel Racing is not good for you please quit and leave it altogether and do not talk about it. It is good for you. Every thing is good and bad it depends on the angle you look at it.

Racing is an international affair. It can not be wiped out so easily. Millions involved in the industry

Best wishes to you

At this juncture when everyone is struggling hard to get on with normalcy, it is difficult to say or predict how long this crisis situation will continue and take how much time to return to normalcy. Let’s hope that normalcy will return soon. Diffinately future is looking gloomy and uncertain but still our hope and patience is the only ride in this hour of crisis which never let its rider to fall, neither at anyone’s feet nor in anyone’s eyes. We have to adjust ourselves with the present situation with positive frame of mind and that is the only remedy and medicine available for us.

Your confidence to bounce back will keep you safe and you will overcome this crisis situation soon. We are not alone and fighting this battle together to win. No defeat is certain till you keep trying. So pl  stay  at home and stay safe.
