Hong Kong Races?

By Raghavan | 22-May-2020

The last race day for Indians was 12/3/2020.  Today is the 71st day of no racing.  Punters are frustrated.  There would have been 45+ day's races after 12/3/20; BNG summer would have been started;  Mysore summer also would have been started.

Punters are ready to bet even if races are held at Lucknow!

One horsetalk member has suggested a trip to Hong Kong, and also a tie up with reputed bookmaker so that he can bet on races at Hong kong.  I do not know whether there are bookmakers at Hong kong.  Anyway, best of luck to that punter.  There are several replies to his posts welcoming such  move.  And some also desire to join that punter in betting on races abroad.

1000 best wishes to the team.  May be, by the time they are able to sign up with a bookmaker, another 10 or 15 members also will join the team.

Now, this can be the best side effect of no racing situation in India.  There were races at Hong kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Newzealand,, England, France, Canada, South Africa & America for 100 years or more.   But no one thought of betting on those races till date.  The horsetalk member has spoken about races in Hong kong only because of no races in India.  There may be other members who desire to bet on races in other countries too.

One thing that I can say is races in the countries I have mentioned are 100 times cleaner than races in India.  And will be much more rewarding provided the punters are able to pick up winners.  BUT, WILL THE PUNTERS ABLE TO PICK WINNERS?  If they are really talented and bet on right horses (strike rate 33% or above), they can definitely boast of a healthy bank balance, one year from now.

Now, let us speak of ground reality!  I do not know about their betting volume in India and the winnings.  One punter boasts of a win in million every 2nd day.  I have demolished his bogus claims.  But, generally speaking, I warn everyone who is desirous of betting on races abroad.  Betting is a losing proposition even in India where the number of horses are 7 or still less in 50% of races.  Whereas, the average runners per race in foreign countries may be 12.  We are hearing about very high payouts in the triple trio pool at Hong kong.  There are several intances where pay out is more than 2 crore yens in trinella pool at Japan.  If the punter is really rich, and desires to improve his bank balance, then there is no harm in betting a small amount on these pools occasionally.   GS has spoken about his fairly good ROI in races in India but flop show in races abroad.  .

But, if he desires to bet on a regular basis, then he shall in near future end up with coconut shells.  Excuse me for being blunt!  I could have posted this in that thread itself.  But, the author desired only positive responses and was having no patience to those posts that are boorish/negative.

Wait for races to resume in India.  I am generally pessimist.  But we are hearing some positive comments on this by S K Sagar, Poonawalla etc.  So, till mid july put up with this lockdown!

The easier route without going anywhere - one of my friends used to bet on bet-fair where all kind of betting takes place - football -cricket horse racing etc the works - his betting account was opened by an NRI who had a account in betfair - with a limit imposed for the amount he could lose -if he lost the fixed amount his account would be closed - the account owner got some benefit from the turnover -  this kind of arrangement does take place -higher level - tote level - diffeent ballgame  - decades of racing and still on tote they are different kind of gamblers.

@raghavan Sir

I couldn't find any negativity or aggression on your post...Its  truly honest and your clearly explained what you think about ayyaranet plan about tour to Hong Kong...as well as about aboard races..

i noticed that in HT people post their selections for Hong Kong Races...But they are not forcing anyone to play..

As so ayyarnet not forcing anyone to spend your precious money to travel to Hong kong and win or loose there..He Just said his Idea..He too honest about what he is thinking..He said all the advantages he felt about HK racing and You said all the disadvantages you felt upon the HK races..Actually we must consider both the things...And What you said was the reality..

And another point you mentioned that throwing light on foreign races will be an side effect to races in India..I dont think  it is a valid point...I dont know how it will  affect Indian horse racing by Few people showing interest in foriegn races..There is 0% chance that all our punters forget India races and move to foreign races...And I still beleive no punters can make as much money in races neither its India races or abroad races..But I still bet in races not with the intention to earn money..i bet just becaue i get used to it and i bet with my limit..even if i  win i wont cross my limit in betting and im not greedy also..

I love Horse Racing...I love betting..I love predicting..

and itz no matter whether its India or any other countries..and i think visiting any other country and racecourses  there is not a bad thing..If yu can fairly afford to that, anyone  can go..Inspite going alone..If Intersted HorseTalkers Join As Team..It will be much enjyoable and intresting..

And i clearly said if anyone want to bet in abroad races..bet365 is the  possible and best way which i feel good as im practcing that..No need to spend our money to travel there to bet..We can travel as a tour..not as a betting tour..visiting other countries and their racecourses is not a bad idea..Winning or loosing money  in races is left to them...No one here forcing to do a particular thing..

Interested people do so..

A Punter should always be aware of lossing..There is no point in disccussing how a punter earn in India races and loss in abroad races..I feel racing is same everywhere..Yeah i said my ROI was fairly good in India Races and flop in abroad..that is only due to lack of experience in foreign races..

As you mentioned No one shown interest in foreign races when there was racing in India at past and that what going to happen in future also ..Once Indian races resume... If India races start no one gonna concentrate much in foreign races..Since No races in India..I just shown my interest in foreign races..Itz Completely Healthy practice for me to spend my mean time in this Lockdown..

If i compare India and foreign races..Sure i gonna prefer India races only..But  sitting idle in Lockdown..i preferred to get few knowledge in abroad races only based on my interest..However there are 30 to 50 centers are active in abroad..I still waiting India races to start..Hoping Positive Signal from Government and TAI

Thanks

Regards

Sri.Raghavan :

Thank you for your suggestion. I am not a novice and I can take care of myself

Right now I am doing practice of predicting winners without spending money virtually depending on the leading jockeys. I will go not just for Races but just for a change from Lockdown for a few months.  That is all. or I may even go to Singapore where I have many friends and relatives. So accomodation and living may not be a problem in Singapore. Since I have not spent much time in Hongkong I prefer Hongkong. First let the International flight get started .

The best possible way is to travel Sri Lanka, and make arrangements with a reputed bookie to play with INR.( Almost all bookies in Sri Lanka) are either Indian's or Lankans. The trainers are 80% Indian's. All over the world racing, betting is acceptable at Lanka.Cheap best and good

Its next to impossible to make money in HK races .Just see how tight the finishes are.8 to 9 horses finishing in the same second frame.Yu will be happy to get a place. The odds available are only on tote.HK economy makes a lot from the races there

I have seen the Shatin race course being demolished and renovated  on many of my visits there.

Ayyarnet,

My post was neither to belittle you nor to praise you.  All my scathng comments are restricted to just two members in this horsetalk.  And, Ayyarnet is out of that bracket!

If you are confdent of winning by betting on Hong Kong races, then I am the last person to stand between you and your cash winnings.

Every race centers will have its quota of Suraj, Sandesh, Akshay, Trevor.  You seem to fancy jockeys & confident of winning by betting on horses that have leading jockey.  So far so good.  Your bets are on limited number of races and even if you lose 5 bets, the 6th bet will be profitable.  Profitable to the extent they wipe out your earlier loss and you may even end up with a small surplus.

That is O K.  It is your money & you alone is the best judge to invest.  And, of course I presume that you will not grudge even if your 6th or subsequent bets fail.  Decide on your stakes and bet only the amount that you can afford to lose!

However, I do not agree with your statement that the racing is restricted to just 2 days in a week.  The live races may be just for 2 days.  But, I believe that there will be intervenue betting also at Hong Kong on races at other centers (countries).  Of course I am not sure on this.  Perhaps you should take some extra trouble in correcting me on this point.

The 2nd thing that I suggest is if you want to bet on races abraod, then simply go ahead and bet.  For Hong Kong the flight charges may be 20k to 25k.  You muster enough cash for betting & staying there for 4 days (or 12 days).  My best wishes to you.  But, do not invite any horsetalk member/s.  Those members are well versed in races abroad and can take their own considered decisions.

YOU SHOULD NOT INVITE ANYONE TO JOIN YOU IN THIS CRUEL GAME.  Of course, if your friends win the cash, they may be very friendly.  But, if they lose, then they will be furious at you.  One Hongkong dollar is nearly Rs. 10/-    For flight charges, lodging, meals and betting you may require at least 50k Hong kong dollars.  I do not think you should be a reason for  other members to risk this much amount!  You may be conservative in betting.  But, can you expect others also be as prudent as you are?

There is absolutely zero chance for the races to commence in INDIA in 2020

Major reason being unlike LIQUOR  the government is least bothered about racing as the taxes are peanuts.

LIQUOR was a revenue generator and the results showed once the shops opened but RACING???well no way.

INDIAN HORSE RACING IS NOW DEAD .....and atleast I am sarcastically happy that the likes of crooked trainers, JOCKEYS and big nane owners will now HV to run their horse as TONGAS in JUHU BEACH

Sri. Raghavan sir:

Thanks for your posting and explaining the facts to be considered in reality.

Credit must go to Krish - always  an early bird to post selection here in this forum In the absence of Races in India I have been doing Research on Hongkong Races. As you say field is more and competitive. But they have 2 Racing program in a week not every day like India. Wednesday Happy Valley and Shatin Saturday or Sunday.I do find that most of the runners are ALSO RAN category you can eliminate easily. There also like our Trevor or Sandhesh or A.Imrankhan or Suraj  winners are rotated among them frequently They have have Moreria and Zac Purton and Teetan. All  win 2 or three Races every day regularly and place their Horses in another 2 or three Races  Hongkog Web site provide all that yiu need to analyse and take your decision. In addition there are dedicated Professional Tipsters analysing all the trend and offer their suggestion Free  and all that they need championshiop among themselves. We mayhave enthusiasm but NOT MAD PEOPLE to throw heavily and we are used to bet moderately  even if we have money also.

I have found a friend in Hongkong through Facebook who suggested an economic Guest House close to the Race Course Shah Time and I even received photos of the Room and accomodation offered at a reasonable fee. In the mean time another friend suggested that you do not have to go to Hongkong to bet Races there and you can bet with Bet 365 from India. I have no such experience through on line betting. I will be pleased if any of our  friends having experience with Bet 365 can narrate  their exprience.

Cost of living is too expensive as per my research. I AM ALSO PLAYING WITH AN IDEA TO TAKE representation work from INDIAN exporters to do their work during Non Racing days and this provide additioal rather sure income to hold you if you are down and return home safely. I am a regularreader of Vishnu Sahasranamam and my mind is embedded with positive thoughtsonly. I have nothing toworry

I like adventure type of life. So I will defenitely make a trip to Hongkong. I have seen many countries but to be honest I can confess Saree Jahan se acha Hindustan Hamara !!  Country is too good but problem with our people and politician only.

COVID 19 showed clear example how weare encountering on WAR foot

compared to other well deceloped countries.
