Gusto, A Great Stallion Is No More

By R Venugopal | 16-Nov-2022

Hi Punters ,  Sir Tegbir Brar informed through Twitter that Gusto is no more , it was very sad to hear that .. we punters r very sorry for Sir Gurpreet Singh for his loss for great Stallion,  Gusto was much more great than we expected.. i won't go much deeper into his career stats or Pedigree.. he was great as a Sire in Indian Racing .. some of us have enjoyed his fouls being great at their runs ..Our Beloved Trainer  Mr Prasanna Kumar horse Capricious won debut run 10-march-2018 n i hope it was Gusto's debut win .. The Great Prasanna Kumar was knowing the abilities of Gusto n he had so many horses after that including Knotty Ash who fought with Pioneer in Pune Derby , Nisus who gave great fight in Ruia Cup with Lagarde, recent InYouWeBelieve n many more .. recent winner was Knotty Woods from Gusto .. as a punter i have enjoyed Gusto fouls when they run  1400 mtrs , Speed n acceleration they achieve r superb .. Evaldo won Chennai Derby Trained by Prasanna Kumar Sir ,Evaldo was also great n Superb that he showed what Gusto can achieve n as well as Mr Prasanna Kumar deserve everything related to Gusto Stallion, Our Beloved Mr Neil B Devaney Northern Alliance horse has shown his capabilities as well as Neil sir training , D Netto Sir has trained some good horses from Gusto as well as Falcon Edge from R H Sequeira Sir  .. i have just written this as a Punter, i feel very bad that Gusto is no more .. we know that  good Sires like Multidimensional , Excellent Art, Win Legend n many more should live years so that Indian Racing have great Horses .. as a racing punter i am very sorry for Gurpreet Singh sir from Bishan Stud n our beloved Trainer Prasanna Kumar sir for their loss of Great Stallion Gusto .. Rest in Peace Gusto .. Gusto u were great n always will be

previous post had some sentences missing. Filling them up and sending.

Gusto was a far better stallion than what his record as a stallion speaks. He could have done wonders if crossed with quality mares.
To cite an example:

Gusto needed one mare from the Usha Stud to beget his best -Evaldo. He was by Gusto out of a mare named Farshesheena, who was either sent by Usha Stud or was a discard. Farshesheena had been crossed with Razeen, Multidimensional and as well as Speaking of Which but failed to produce anything worth mentioning.

Years back, the same happened with a stallion named Emerald Cat that had stood at Capricorn Stud.
He got his lone Indian classic winner through Macchupicchu that was bred by a mare from Usha Stud.
Macchupicchu - Emeral Cat x Anaroma

Stallions can give their best only if quality mares are provided to them.

For those unaware, Usha Stud has the best stock of mares in their stud farm. No other Indian stud farms can match them in that.

Rip, Gusto!
You could have been better but you did your best with the limited and the mediocre mares that came your way.
