Darius Byramji - A Chip Of The Old Block!

By Veteran Punter | 03-Feb-2025

Greetings to all racing aficionados,

By winning the Indian Derby with Ranquelion after annexing the Bangalore winter derby exactly a week ago, Darius Byramji has proved he is a chip off the old block, as he emulated the feat of Cordon Bleu, trained by his father, the late Mr Rashid Byramji, who had similarly won the Indian Derby after winning the winter derby in Bangalore.

Congrats to him, and wishing him more, and I hope he wins the Indian Turf Invitation Cup with Ranquelino and proves the skeptics wrong, many of whom claim it is akin to a flash-in-the-pan victory.

I REMEMBERED IN 2007  "DIABOLICAL" ( COLM O DONOGHUE UP) WON THE HYD AND MUM DERBY WITH IN WEEKS TIME.

DARIUS B. DONE A GREAT JOB, AS HE JUDGED THE BLOODLINE VERY WELL. AND KEPT "RANQULINO" IN FINE SHAPE.HE MUST HAVE LEARNED LOT OF TRAINING METHODS FROM HIS FATHER AND HOPE HE MAY WIN MORE CLASSIC IN FUTURE.

Fully marks to Trainer he did a wonderful job with the winner. In my opinion using African Gold as a Pacemaker was the most interesting and unusal tactics employed by the team which really upset all the calculations of others. Full marks to Jockey Sandesh also he did ride well in the derby. Highly Talented jockey but unrelable and have been in wrong company many times and has been suspended often. all the three other placed jcokeys did well Particularly Mukesh Kumar on Pyrite and Imran Chisty on Thalasa. Akshay Kumar seems to falter on big races at the winning post often. Like olympics or other sports Indian Jockeys and Trainers can employee support of Psycological Coaches for extra edge required at the winning post.
