Hello all,
Ranquelino is on the cusp of creating history for himself and his master and rider if he wins the Invitation Cup for the following reasons:
1. Ranquelino would become the first horse ever to win the Indian Turf Inviatation Cup, Indian Derby, and the Bangalore Derby (winter).
2. Trainer Darius Byramji would become the first trainer to bag the Indian Turf Inviatation Cup, the Indian Derby, and the Bangalore Derby (winter).
3. Jockey A. Sandesh may become the first rider to win the above-mentioned three races with the same horse and would also create a unique record for also winning the Sprinters Cup and the Stayers' Cup in the same year. In 2006, the late rider, B. Prakash, also won the Sprinters Cup (Spectacular Quest), the Stayers' Cup (Forever Elegance), and the Turf Invitation Cup (Mystical) but failed to ride Mystical to victory in the Indian Derby.
Here is wishing them all the very best!
May the best horse win!

Prince Khartum was the first horse to give the late RRB his first Bangalore summer Derby win. It went on to give him the first Indian Derby win and also the first Invitation win.
Smart Chieftain also won the Bangalore summer Derby, Indian Derby and Invitation.

Hello Sak,
Alaindair won the Bangalore SUMMER derby, not the Bangalore WINTER derby.
Many horses have won the Bangalore summer derby, the Indian derby, and the Turf Invitation Cup. In fact, trainer Byramji has a hat-trick of winners with Commanche (1976), Squanderer (1977), and Manitou (1978).
Another one that comes readily to mind is Track Lightning (1981). He too was trained by the training genius, the late Mr. R. R. Byramji.

It has been the Ashok Ranpise show all year round. Winning most of the Derbies across India.
He won the Indian Derby with a part share in Ranquilino. Now his primary ownership ward Redefined wins the Invitation. So we can say he becomes an owner to win the coveted Derby(s) and Invitation.
Cheers

Congratulations The Joker,
The race was decided by AR. Redifined finished 2nd in Bangalore Derby that being the first run after being gelded. The horse skipped the Mumbai Derby.
Redifined finished more than 10 lengths ahead of Ranquelino.
If Shamarock can beat African Star and Santissimo then you can understand what kind of racing.Shamarock had finished 6th(last) in a 6 horse field in it's previous run.
Knotty Charmer wins and the stable mates finish 2 and 3 which are first and second favourites. Knotty Charmer was available at 15/1.

Hi VP
Thanks fr your write-up
Ranquelino is a champ but there is an owner called AR there who is a old hand at betting.
If odds r right, he might right the result in favor of PKs horse.
Trusting Dyf Touch of Grey Rodney n the bottom weighted Queen of Kings to run blinders
My best bet is African Gold in the Super Mile
Cheers

Dyf and Redefined should fight out followed by Mandarino, so that's it
P.TREVOR SHOULD ROMP HOME IN STYLE only and only danger ix from Redefined.
ONCE YOU GO BLACK should also win
Everyone is wise to invest
