Why don't you take a chance? Just take a chance! I have a good chance to win. Three words did trick as a youngster named Take A Chance made merry of his companions en route to complete a hat-trick in the Beautiful Noise Plate at the races held here on Friday. Jockey Rajinder, who guided the fortune of the Deepak Kalra-trained colt, later went on to earn his double through Jovial. It was Jovial's third straight victory. Bay colt Take a Chance who has been consistent by figuring on the board in as many five outings had to face a mediocre set over the six furlongs. Though he was conceding weight against the same age rivals but none of six had that much calibre to finish anywhere near the winner. He broke out quickly, but seeing Splendid Man in a hurry to lead, he was settled back by the champion. After reaching at the top of the homestretch, he simply cruised ahead enabling his partner enjoy an armchair ride. The son of White Crown and Passionate Baby, who became the first juvenile to score in an open class (IV) with massive weight of 60 kilograms, has the potential to perform even over the extended trip. Jewel Hunt could have run closer too but the debutant wasted valuable time by trying to get through the shortest way soon after straightening for home. By the time he was switched on to out-wide, the eventual winner was well out of his reach. It is also noted that he was hanging-in badly. The son of Ansbach and Sovereignty should soon make amends. Best of Luck, who had stunned Ashwa Sourya over the similar trip, woke up late to occupy third place. Rajinder showed his prowess on Jovial in the Dance A Lot Plate which was earmarked for class three horses. Adopting a waiting tactics bore fruitful answers for the duo. The speedy customer ran against his speed travelling fifth in the early stages and gained a place only when the field made a headway into the two-furlongs straight. The champ used his experience by asking for an effort from the mount, who in turn, responded spontaneously to sneak through passing 100m. Shy Beauty, who led briefly before being displaced by the favourite and ownermate Future calculations, came with a late burst to get the runner-up berth. Future Calculations found the stalling position (13) making her task difficult and that proved right as after guiding the way till the distance post, she had nothing left in her tank. Pleiad ran remarkably well from the middle of the bunch to get the fourth place. Magan Singh-saddled Romario tasted his maiden win in the Crystal Beauty Plate over 1,200m. The horse also has the staying power and that may help him to bring more laurels for the connections. It seemed Crossword has overcome her notorious gate behaviour. She played second fiddle before being dethrowned by Romario. The way she has been performing, she may achieve success soon. The run of Time And Again was sparkling, finishing easy third. Northern Prince finally stepped into the winner's boot by lifting the upper division of the laser Light Plate. The gelding, earlier, had met with one better than him in the last four outings. The lower division of the Laser Light Plate saw Lady's Crown upsetting the applecart of the favourite Hero's Power. Coming from tail end, she showed a powerful acceleration towards the end. The run of Hero's power is best ignored. Real Scotch got into act late for the third place. Wild Wind, who met with interference, should be noted. Smiles of Gold registered a long overdue victory under apprentice jockey Arun Kumar. The mare showed out early but was overshadowed by Prince Khaiser until she regained the lead to dominate the last furlong despite drifting out. She should complete an encore.
