Equine flu seems to be in its last phase of existence at the Delhi Race Club. The horses appeared for trotting on the sand track on Thursday. But only five horses succeeded in procuring the fitness certificate; the remaining nine horses failed to rise to occasion. Dr (Professor) PK Uppal, Technical Director of Diagnostic Research Laboratories with the Royal Western India Turf Club Limited, who examined the horses during the morning exercise, found only three out of ten horses from the stable of trainer Aleem Khan fit for appearing on the track. On the other hand, two out of four horses of trainer Magan Singh were given clearance for work out in the track. The other horses are expected to be examined during the warm-up session on Monday. Though the examinations of the horses brought anxiety on the faces of the professionals, but they look quite optimistic about the races beginning soon.
