Golden Lilac
Golden Lilac by Galileo out of Grey Lilas [Danehill] maintained her unbeaten record while winning the Group 1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, the French equivalent of the 1000 Guineas at Longhamp on Sunday, May 15. Owned by Gestut Ammerland, Golden Lilac is trained by Andre Fabre and was ridden by Olivier Peslier. She earned Euro 257,130 (approx. Rs 1.65 crore) for her effort.
Later the same afternoon, Tin Horse by Sakhee out of Joyeuse Entree [Kendor] won the Colts equivalent, the Group 1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains. Tin Horse is owned by Marquise de Moratalla, trained by Didier Guillemin and was ridden by Thierry Jarnet. For the gray colt, this was his 3rd win from seven starts. However, he is unlikely to run the Prix du Jockey-Club or French Derby run over 2,100 metres in three weeks as the trainer believes he may not stay the distance.
