The Rock scripts history

The Rock scripted a history by winning the richest race ever organised at the National Capital Race Course. The three-year-old chestnut tamed the stablemate Stunning Rose by half-a-length in the Vaishnavi Multimillion on Monday. Incidentally, the day turned out be a goldmine for the race goers as five favourites justified the favouritism. And out of them, Aleem Khan saddled three winners including two were guided by jockey Rajinder. The stands were fully packed on the Vaishnavi Kosmeticos Industries Private Limited sponsored day and the fare served up by the two combatants (The Rock and Stunning Rose) was of high quality. When the starter sent off the nine juveniles from the mile post, it was "The Rock" who chose to set his own pace. The chestnut was quite busy in maintaining the distance from the others until the much experienced Stunning Rose started cutting the ground under his feet after coming from the sixth place. The Rock should have thanked to the winning post who came for his rescue at the time of need while Stunning Rose once again failed to come out of the shadow of ill-fated luck. "I am proud of The Rock, he has a tremendous power of acceleration and the stamina which really paid me off", Sultan Singh, part owner, told me. "The full credit should go to the joint efforts of Aleem Khan and jockey Rajinder who helped me to become the first owner to win the highest stake money offered in a race at this centre", Sultan Said." I'm seeing Brahmaputra (the 2000 Guineas and the North India Derby winner) in him and hopefully he will also succeed in the Usha and Mehra Stud Million", Sultan added further. "Even though he had won the Northern India Cup easily over the same trip yet Rajinder advised us to get the support of Toungue-strap and that worked out", A Khan, trainer, told me. On being questioned about the feeling of finishing one and two in the richest event, he said that he was quite sure for that. "I was fully confident about the victory after the final spurt with the tongue strap", Rajinder, jockey, told me. The hunger on Stunning Rose's face was there for all to see. Having finished fastest second to Strengthto Succeed in the Sports Lifestyle Million a couple of weeks ago, the wait for her million title seemed coming to an end but once again she failed to meet with success. She should make amends. Surprisingly, Alamgir fared well to be third. The sponsored-owned Quality Assurance could not give any assurance about her quality along with the owner mate Kerry Blue. Both finished fourth and fifth respectively. Utilising the full advantage of the handicap and the standing position as well, the Anupam Sharma-trained and apprentice jockey Sameer Khan-ridden Possible made it every post a winning one in the opening event, the Vs Rs Builders & Developers Cup (Div. I) The odds-on Striving Higher did not deliver his best and ran third even behind Diamond Cut, who never drifted out as she would do. The run of Striving Higher should be kept aside. She's Sexy ran true to her name in the Coral Health Care Cup. However, she should praise the stablemate Spot Hit, who was only sent out for the runner-up berth. Healing Touch proved to be too good under the visiting jockey Anil Baandal in the Universal Trade Tower Cup. This is the horse that had to pay off the mistake of jockey Mohan Lal who failed to weight-in after chalking out a fine victory a few months ago. Vieille, Fixed Dividend and Balle Balle, who played the role of onlookers finishing second, third and fourth respectively, should be noted. Oriental Speed was the next public fancied to land the spoilsports in the Core Kosmeticos Cup. Riding with patience, the ace jockey Rajinder pressed the button only just before the final furlong. Yet another win should come his way. The Mumbai imported Cornelia Supra showed no mercy over the local field and ran away with the lower division of the Vs Rs Builders & Developrs Cup. She should complete an encore.
