It was a day when the horses from the stable of Magan Singh dominated their rivals in the class one and two events at the Delhi races on Tuesday. Shocking Star went onto claim the Madras Race Club Cup, while Kiana bagged the Stewards Cup. Saddler Deepak Kalra was the other professional to share a brace each with Magan.

Taking an advantage of competing against the horses with lack of preparation, Shocking Star made the six scapegoat of her speed by making every post winning one. Though, she drifted out alarmingly under distress in the last furlong of the 1,100m event. Moongate Man, who played the role of second fiddle, should soon meet with success. Ka Ching had to struggle before pushing Enya back for the third place.

The day's supporting event witnessed a nail-biting finish between Kiana and Genius Boy. In a small field of four horses, Genius Boy made a quick dash before being overtaken by the opening favourite Spot Hit. By overcoming a sluggish start, Kiana got settled behind them and improved further to breathe down on the neck of Spot Hit before making headway into the straight. Shadab, soon, forced her to lead but Genius Boy made her task impossible by snatching the issue as the two entered the final furlong.

Despite having a narrow lead, Rajinder Saini kept on whipping Genius Boy whereas, Shadab rode the filly vigorously. In response, the last year Derby runner-up Kiana made a stunning regal lop to get the nostril better of Genius Boy en route to complete an encore over five furlongs. It is noted that her strides better suit the longer distances. Deepak Kalra-trained Classic N Mystic raised the curtain of the day's programme by necking out Perpetual Glory in the upper division of the Race Goers Plate. Apprentice jockey Sumit Bohat rode the former with patience before overtaking the latter after entering the homestretch and kept on pushing to ensure his career's first success. Perpetual Glory was handled poorly.

The lower division plate was at the mercy of Divinegrace, who recorded an effortless victory over much shorter trip. The miler has the calibre to gain more success. Master Crown and Pretty Good wasted their speed and stamina by jostling with each other before being displaced to second and third respectively. Deepak's Take A Chance sprang a surprise in the Trainers Association Plate. At nourishing odds, the gelding was in start-to-finish attempt.

Black Partridge and Ashwa Prithvi finished impressive second and third respectively. Jockey turned trainer Rajinder began his second phase of profession on a winning note when Gold Spark tamed Master Piece at the wire in the Fair Decision Plate. Incidentally, it was also the maiden win for the gelding of Ontario and Argyle Gold, who took off slowly before coming into contention inside the final furlong of the 1,100m journey. He should complete a double whereas, Master Piece is expected to make amends.
