Ashwa Prabha shrugged off last outing's disappointing run of not raising a gallop as she demolished the opponents in the National Research Centre of Equine Cup, which was the main event of the Delhi races on Monday. With the favourites ruled the turf, jockey Pawan Sharma and saddler Magan Singh shared a treble each.

Chandrapal Singh's Ashwa Prabha (Bernstein-Ishouldabet), who had not taken practical part in the race after veering out soon after the jump, got off to a confident start traveling fourth behind Odds N Evens, Oeuf Toba and Splendid Man till the distance post. Apprentice Jockey Monty Chettri, who hails from Sikkim, simply asked for an effort from the mare, who in turn, responded well to walk away. It was the first win for Chettri. Oeuf Toba busted its blood vessel before pipping Odds N Evens for the runner-up slots.

A card of seven races began with the upper Division Hisar Plate. Magan Singh-trained Grey Dancer (Bee’s Prospector – Grey Lightning) did not show early speed and that made him to sit third behind Alabaster And Conquerers Flame till the top of the homestretch. Jockey Pawan, then, put the grey gelding into top gear to shut the door on the late finishing King Cha Cha. Jockey of the latter raised an objection against the winner for hampering his way but bore no fruit. King Cha Cha should make amends. Alabaster should soon strike.

The combination of the professionals (Magan and Pawan) got succeeded in winning the lower Division Hisar Plate through Green Seals. Green Seals (Duja –Bruges) is expected to complete an encore. Mauhtarma found the distance a bit short before occupying the second position.

The duo of pros further went onto complete a creditable treble through Don't You Dare. Running over the mile for the first time in her career, Don't You Dare (Ansbach - Donna Mia) had to sweat out before handing out a length defeat to the aged Chandelier.

The Equine Health Plate witnessed a close finish between Rock Solid and Firecracker. The former prevailed by a neck after making a re-gallop inside the distance. The victory, which was in the lead top of the home straight, looked bowing down to Firecracker the final furlong. Rock Solid (Royal Gladiator - Mount Rose) showed a tremendous zeal to fight back. He has the potential to achieve more success up to the mile.

Deepak Kalra-saddled Equal Luxury (Young Senor-Seranova) showed a clean pair of heels in the senior Division Panipat Plate. A lack of initial speed did not come on the way of the filly, though she was ridden out vigorously to displace 11 horses to run second behind Mysterio before dominating the last two furlongs of the 1000m event. The filly will be the prime contender for the 1000 Guineas.

Zulfiqar Khan's trainee Movie Queen (Tirol- Kiss And Tell) just managed to peg Perpetual Glory back at the wire in the junior plate.
