Trainer Jim Bolger was back with a bang at Newmarket, to pick his fourth triumph, in the G1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, a highly celebrated juvenile event, through homebred Parish Hall. Bolger had won the race for the first time through Teofilo five years ago and his prodigy Parish Hall lifted the 2011 edition in a gripping finish. Parish Hall raced prominently behind the front runners early on and jockey Kevin Manning alerted the colt inside the last two furlongs, moved ahead to lead in the final furlong and stayed gallantly in front to thwart the final assault of the favourite Power by half a length at the wire. Most Improved, Bronterre and Trumpet Major added excitement to the finish.
"It's a very nice achievement," said trainer Bolger. "He's done a lot in 12 months, but has been running on soft ground and he can't handle that. He’s very good on top of the ground. He's in their [Bolger's Dewhurst winners] league and is a very solid horse so I'd look on him as an Epsom horse."
